M-Sport announces WRC 2024 line-up

M-Sport has announced its line-up for the upcoming 2024 WRC season.

It’s an all-new line-up for M-Sport Ford in 2024 as Adrien Fourmaux and Grégoire Munster will contest a full Rally1 programme in 2024.

Fourmaux and Munster formed M-Sport’s WRC2 line-up in 2023 and will now also be team-mates at rallying’s top level for 2024. Next season will mark Fourmaux’s second Rally1 spell after being demoted to WRC2 for 2023. 2023 was all about getting his confidence back, which the Frenchman did.

He won the British Rally Championship by winning all 5 rallies he entered. In WRC2, he became eighth in the standings, taking one podium finish at Rally Estonia. However, he was the fastest Rally2 driver at the Central European Rally, albeit not classified to score WRC2 points, therefore not counting as a WRC2 win.

“I’ve enjoyed being part of the development of the Fiesta Rally2 in 2023, and I think this will help me for the upcoming season with the Rally1 car. It will be a very interesting season for everybody, especially with the new regulations and points system,” Fourmaux said.

“We’ve got a proper plan to work hard and deliver the best results we can, to support the team and get it back to where it deserves to be. I’m also very proud to be the the only French driver competing the full season at the top level of WRC!” he added.

Munster: “The goal for 2024 will be first to get some good results and increase the pace rally after rally, try not to make any mistakes and just get all the experience”

Munster made his Rally1 debut in 2023 at Rally Chile, finishing in P13 overall. A second Rally1 outing followed for the Belgian who drives with a Luxembourg license at the Central European Rally, finishing in P7 overall.

“The two drives in the Puma has helped me a lot with getting prepared for the Rally1 drive in 2024. Working within the M-Sport team has also been incredibly useful, you see the WRC2 and Rally1 team all within the same structure, so it’s good preparation for Rally1 to feel familiar and at home.

“I’m eager to start in Monte-Carlo, and the goal for 2024 will be first to get some good results and increase the pace rally after rally, try not to make any mistakes and just get all the experience. We’re driving against world champions, so it will be a big challenge but I’m really looking forward to it.”

Millener: “2024 will see us take a new and different approach compared to the last 12 months”

Richard Millener M-Sport Team Principal said: “2024 will see us take a new and different approach compared to the last 12 months.

“Developing and helping young talent prove themselves is an exciting way to tackle a WRC season, and with several of the top drivers not competing across the full championship we have opportunities to put in some strong and surprising performances. We still have all the ingredients to deliver results and the team is motivated to start again in a few weeks’ time with an almost blank paper on what we can achieve.”

Pierre-Louis Loubet has lost his Rally1 drive for 2024 after a troubled 2023 campaign where his best finishes were P6s at Rally Sweden and Rally Estonia. The Frenchman’s plans for 2024 are unclear at the moment. He did test Toyota’s all-new Rally2 car earlier this month. Ott Tänak left M-Sport to rejoin Hyundai in 2024.
