Ott Tänak will start Rally Estonia today with a five-minute time penalty.
The home hero’s Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid had engine problems after the first run of shakedown on Thursday morning.
After an expectation in service, the M-Sport team concluded that the engine had to be replaced. Replacing an engine after scrutineering and before the first time control is allowed, however in that case, a five-minute time penalty will be applied.
Rally Estonia starts this evening with a 3,35 km long Super Special stage just outside of the service park in Tartu. The first car will be in the stage at 20:05 local time (19:05 CEST, 18:05 BST).
