Hankook to become WRC’s tyre supplier from 2025

The FIA has confirmed that Hankook will become the WRC’s official tyre supplier from the 2025 season onwards.

The South Korean tyre supplier has been selected to become the WRC’s tyre supplier following “a detailed tendering process launched by the FIA in July based on criteria such as the supplier’s capabilities, sustainability, technical quality, cost per tyre and marketing.”

Hankook will replace Pirelli whose supplier deal concludes at the end of the 2024 WRC season. Pirelli confirmed back in September that it wouldn’t submit a bid as it said it “had achieved the targets set three years ago.”

The Italian manufacturer became WRC’s sole tyre supplier back in 2019 and will thus hand over to Hankook at the end of next season after six years.

Hankook’s deal is valid for three years: 2025, 2026 and 2027.
