FIA names six rallies as contingency events

The FIA has named six rallies as contingency events for the 2021 WRC season. Rally Belgium, Rally Argentina and Acropolis Rally in Greece are among the six events.

These events are listed in order to replace or fill any events if events are cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The contingency events are: Rally Turkey, Rally Latvia, Rally Belgium, Rally Argentina, Acropolis Rally (Greece) & Monza Rally (Italy).

FIA statement regarding contingency events:
“Additionally, events in Turkey, Latvia, Belgium, Argentina, the Acropolis in Greece and Monza in Italy will offer alternatives as “contingency events” in the perspective of on-going COVID-19 related issues.”

Next year’s championship consists of 12 events. Rally Croatia is new in 2021, Safari Rally, Rally Spain and Rally Japan are also included.
