Andreas Mikkelsen will make his Dakar Rally debut tomorrow as a replacement for Mitch Guthrie in the Lightweight Prototype class.
Guthrie tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore unable to start the rally. Mikkelsen, who won the WRC2 and ERC rally championships in 2021, will make his Dakar Rally debut with his former WRC co-driver Ola Fløene alongside him.
The 2022 Dakar Rally starts on New Year’s Day with a 19 kilometre prologue.
